I am not sure about all the other programs . (fake). but yha google does pay you very good money for partimers and its a free program.. you dont need to pay a single penni to get a adsense account if any one asks for money u can pay them but i dont think its needed..
few steps to get a adsense accout:
create a good looking blog.. >> select what you blog contents >> spend 2-3 days to add contents to your blog ad as many as you can (make them unique ) >> submit it to few forms/ yahoo answers/ discuss boards / etc etc >> go to http://google.com/adsense register with adsense.. you are done..
now start earning
